I would go to that church

Can I ask Kenny, how do you do this? Add a varnish or coloured lacquer to the glass? I'm genuinely curious, I have no idea how this works.

Looks great, cant wait to see it finished!

Dave - I do not make the actual glass myself. I buy it in sheets of 4 square feet. I want to learn how to make glass but its too damn expensive because you have to buy a kiln and those are expensive. I buy my glass locally through someone who makes it. But for stained glass pictures or windows I do that.

Or were you asking how I am doing this storm trooper?

I was curious about the colours. Do you buy the glass coloured or colour the glass after?

Also, how the hell do you cut the glass to fit the shapes in your template? Glass shouldn't cut like that :o

Lastly, tell your damn spellchecker that 'colour' is a word :P

Out of curiosity, where did you learn all this? Hobby, or did you take some glass/art classes?

I buy all my glass pre-colored. I would do it myself but I do not have a kiln or the knowledge to do it. And there is alot of special tools that you can use to make some of those cuts. I try to use a glass cutter the most until I get to a point where i need a sharp inside angle and then i will use a glass grinder or a ring saw. There is alot of different steps you need to take to make stained glass. Like : Drawing Pattern, Copying Pattern, Cutting Cutter, Picking Glass, Gluing the pattern to the glass, cut the glass, grind the glass, wash it, foil it, burnish it, arrange it, flux, solder, add zinc border and hanging chain, solder again, flux remover, wash it, use steel wool on the the solder lines, add patina, wash it, and then wax and engrave. So ALOT goes in to making a stained glass.

Spider- I self taught myself.

Nice to see it finished, looks awesome!

Do you create this stuff by yourself and then sell it? Or are you commissioned by people to make pieces?
